My journey to establish an accounting firm

My passion for accounting and bookkeeping was ignited when I started my first course in accounting. The numbers had real life application and handling them right meant transforming a struggling or failing business into a successful one. The challenge of solving each problem successfully fascinated me. I enjoyed working out the most efficient solution for each scenario.

Previous to starting my accounting course, I’d been in academia for what seemed like forever. Moving from one temporary contract to the next, I felt unfulfilled. Even my research was not stemming out of my own interests but was rather driven by what was available in terms of specialisms and supervisors.

I decided I needed a change.

So I traded my abstract research for concrete numbers that make a difference in business owners’ lives. I went on to complete an education in bookkeeping and accounting. I trained with AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians) – one of the most prestigious accounting bodies in the United Kingdom – while working in industry to gain experience. You can find me in the AAT directory here.

I founded LAS Accounting Ltd to offer my accounting and bookkeeping services to business owners that need my personalised and expert support. I get satisfaction from building strong relationships with all my clients and I love to see their businesses grow with my support.

LAS Accounting Ltd is the accounting firm you trust.

“Laura helped me with my self-assessment tax return. I used a different accountant who was disappointing, so I didn't know what to expect with Las Accounting Ltd. However Laura has been fantastic. She is very organised, with consistent reminders of upcoming deadlines.”

My business experience

My experience is not only in accounting, but also in running a successful business: I have been running my interpreting & translation business for as long as I can remember, in different countries and on different continents, working with people from all walks of life and in various settings.

I have personally experienced the hardship and toil of starting and consolidating a business, so I understand how difficult it is to make time for what really matters when there is so much out there that needs to be taken care of.

Therefore I want to be someone who understands your struggle and where your passion comes for what you do. I am not running a big 4 firm delegating your accounts to a junior accountant. On the contrary, I am here to support you with your numbers, your paperwork, your accounts, helping you achieve the goals you set out when you started your business.

I’d love to chat with you about how I can support you and your business.
